Stainless Steel Tiles image

Stainless steel, also known as inox steel, is a family of alloy steels that resist rust.

These days it is being used, in the form of tiles, in kitchen backsplashes as well as for countertops because they protect your kitchen wall from grease and water splashes.

Ceramic tile isn’t always the best option for your kitchen walls and floors. Stainless steel tile is one of the most hygienic kitchen materials available. It is low maintenance, highly resistant to both oxidization and stain. It is easily cleaned with soap and water.
You can also apply a sealant that makes the steel totally maintenance free.

Working with stainless steel tiles is similar to ceramic tiles. Steel tiles can be screwed down or they can be glued with silicone caulking. It would be good to find a tile contractor who has experience with stainless steel kitchen tiles since they require a bit more craftsmanship and expertise. These tiles are best cut using a standard tile wet-saw with diamond blade. Holes can be drilled using hole saw or a high-speed drill.

To prevent stainless steel backsplash tiles from scratches during shipping, they are shipped with a protective PVC film which can easily be peeled off.

These tiles come in a variety of patterns and finishes, satin or matt; you can choose from square or penny round stainless steel tiles.
